Mark Sanchez Arrested After Indianapolis Stabbing

Former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was hospitalized in stable condition after sustaining apparent stab wounds during a physical disturbance in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday, police said. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department investigators reviewed video, identified all involved parties and described the incident as an isolated confrontation between two men in which one suffered lacerations and the other apparent stab wounds. After consulting the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, IMPD arrested the 38-year-old Sanchez at the hospital on misdemeanor counts of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication; he has not been booked and final charging decisions rest with the prosecutor. Some reports say the other man was a food delivery driver who told police he acted in self-defense and alleged Sanchez used pepper spray. Fox Sports confirmed Sanchez is recovering and asked for privacy. Detectives said they continue investigating and are not seeking additional suspects.
