South Carolina Couple Sues Delta Over Employee’s Alleged Abuse of Lost iPad
Delta Air Lines is facing a federal lawsuit filed by Tory and Brooke Brewer, a South Carolina couple who claim a man in a Delta uniform stole their young daughter's Peppa Pig iPad left on a connecting flight and used it to record explicit videos. The couple discovered the device in Queens, New York, through Apple's Find My app and noticed unauthorized activity on their iCloud account, including selfies and pornographic videos allegedly featuring the same individual wearing a Delta uniform and badge. Despite filing a lost item report with Delta promptly, the family received little to no response, and the explicit content only appeared weeks later. The man reportedly accessed the family's iTunes and Amazon accounts, creating unauthorized user profiles, including one titled "Gay" on Amazon, which was discovered by one of the couple's minor children. Delta stated that the person involved is not a direct employee but rather a vendor company worker and emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for unlawful behavior while declining further comment due to ongoing litigation. The Brewers are seeking damages for negligence, emotional distress, and harassment in the lawsuit filed in Charleston, South Carolina.
