Two Separate Youths Hospitalized After Vehicle Collisions

A primary school-aged boy was hospitalized with significant facial injuries after being struck by a police car in Logan, south of Brisbane, and is in stable condition. Separately, in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, a teenage bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle near East University Avenue and Northeast 56th Street around noon on Thursday. The teen was found trapped underneath the vehicle, unresponsive, and required extrication before being transported to a local hospital; the current condition of the teen remains unknown. Identities of those involved in both incidents have not been released. Authorities are investigating both crashes to determine the circumstances leading up to them. Road closures and police involvement were reported at each scene.
