Cindy Lee Removes Music from Spotify, Moves Catalog to Bandcamp

Indie rock artist Cindy Lee, the project of Canadian musician Patrick Flegel, has removed their entire music catalog from Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms, making it exclusively available on Bandcamp. This move aligns with a broader artist boycott of Spotify in protest of CEO Daniel Ek's investment in AI military technology. Cindy Lee's rare 2020 album Cat O’ Nine Tails, previously released in a limited physical edition and not available on streaming platforms until now, has made its streaming debut on Bandcamp. Additionally, a full slate of vinyl reissues of Cindy Lee's catalog, including Cat O’ Nine Tails and the acclaimed Diamond Jubilee, is set for release on Halloween via the Superior Viaduct imprint W.25TH. The transition to Bandcamp allows fans to stream, download, and pre-order physical editions of Cindy Lee’s music, which had previously been difficult to access digitally or in physical form. This shift reflects a growing trend among artists distancing themselves from platforms tied to controversial investments and practices.
