Man Arrested for Multiple Stabbings in Statesville Convenience Store

Jordan Austin Reid, 31, of Statesville, was arrested following a stabbing incident at a convenience store on Davie Avenue in Statesville. The assault began inside the store during an altercation, where Reid stabbed the victim multiple times, and continued as Reid chased the victim into the parking lot, where the victim eventually collapsed. The victim was initially treated at Iredell Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with life-threatening injuries but remains in critical yet stable condition. Reid was found in the nearby Hallmark Inn parking lot with the suspected weapon and was taken into custody without incident. A search of Reid's motel room yielded additional evidence related to the assault, and he is being held on a $25,000 secured bond. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the Statesville Police Department.
