19-year-old shot dead in New Bedford, investigation ongoing

A 19-year-old man was found shot in the head inside a black Hyundai Sonata parked on the east side of Acushnet Avenue near Griffin Court in New Bedford, Massachusetts, late Tuesday night. Police responded to the scene following a 911 call and a ShotSpotter alert around 10 p.m. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes, and the victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the victim's name, and no suspects have been identified or arrested at this time. The investigation is ongoing and described as 'extremely active' by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
