JPMorgan Chase & Co. has reached a major milestone by opening its 1,000th branch since launching an aggressive market expansion initiative in 2018, with the latest location unveiled in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bank now operates nearly 5,000 branches across 48 states, covering 68% of the U.S. population within accessible driving distance, and plans to add 500 more branches by 2027 to reach 75% national coverage. Chase's expansion includes new branches in Massachusetts and Connecticut, with five upcoming locations in Connecticut alone, reflecting its strategy to grow its brick-and-mortar footprint even as many competitors reduce theirs.
