Atlantic City Officer Faces Sexual Assault Charges

Atlantic City police officer Joshua Munyon has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and official misconduct after allegedly assaulting a woman in his patrol car in September 2024. The charges follow accusations that Munyon, after issuing a summons for public intoxication at Tropicana Casino, drove the woman to a parking lot, handcuffed and assaulted her. Surveillance footage and vehicle location data corroborate her account of events, showing her entering and exiting Munyon's patrol car. Despite Munyon's denial of the woman's presence in his vehicle, the evidence led to his arrest and suspension without pay. He is currently in custody at the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
