Woman Killed, Another Injured in Stray Dog Attack San Bernardino Park
A woman named Teodora Mendoza, 51, was killed and another person injured after being attacked by a pack of more than a dozen stray dogs near Perris Hill Park in San Bernardino, California. Police responded to the scene where they found the victims lying about 30 yards apart; Mendoza was taken to the hospital with severe facial injuries but later died. During the chaotic incident, a pit bull charged at a police officer and was shot dead at the scene. The attack occurred near a homeless encampment where Mendoza, who had been homeless for over a year, was known to stay. San Bernardino Animal Control removed 14 dogs from the park following the attack. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, although it remains unclear how many dogs were involved or if the victims knew each other.
