Apple Launches Studio Audio, Camera Remote Features for AirPods

At WWDC 2025, Apple announced two significant new features for the AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation, and AirPods Pro 2 that will be available with the iOS 26 update this fall. The first feature allows users to use their AirPods as a remote shutter for the Camera app on iPhones and iPads, enabling photo capture and video recording with a press-and-hold on the AirPods stem, which also supports third-party camera apps. The second feature introduces studio-quality audio recording, enhancing voice clarity for podcasters, singers, and content creators, as well as improving call quality across iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, leveraging the H2 chip, beamforming microphones, and computational audio. Voice Isolation technology is further improved to ensure clear recordings and calls even in noisy environments. These updates aim to make AirPods a more versatile tool for content creation and communication, with testing already available through the Apple Developer Program and a public beta coming soon. Both features are expected to roll out alongside iOS 26, likely in September.
