United Airlines Ends Two Domestic Bus Routes July, September

United Airlines announced it will permanently discontinue two Landline bus routes connecting Denver to Fort Collins, Colorado, and Newark, New Jersey, to Allentown, Pennsylvania, as part of a strategic shift to streamline operations and focus away from smaller regional connections. The Denver to Fort Collins route will end on July 31, while the Newark to Allentown service will cease on September 1. United stated the discontinuation is due to Landline focusing on other opportunities, and the airline is assisting affected customers with rebooking or refunds. Passengers impacted by the changes can rebook to alternate airports within 300 miles or receive partial refunds if no suitable alternatives exist. These bus services had provided amenities like Wi-Fi, entertainment, and seamless luggage transfer, serving as ground connections to larger United hubs. The move reflects broader challenges U.S. carriers face, including operational issues and a focus on optimizing more profitable core routes.
