Prime Video Unveils Trailer for NASCAR Documentary 'American Thunder'

Prime Video is set to premiere the documentary 'American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans' on June 12, chronicling NASCAR’s ambitious 2023 debut at the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The film documents the transformation of a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, traditionally built for American oval tracks, into an endurance racing contender, guided by NASCAR Chairman Jim France’s long-held dream. Hendrick Motorsports led the 18-month development project, bringing together champion drivers Jenson Button, Jimmie Johnson, and Mike Rockenfeller to compete against top teams from Ferrari and Porsche. The project, formerly known as Garage 56, highlights the challenges and excitement of adapting American stock car racing for one of motorsport’s most demanding events. The documentary not only celebrates innovation and perseverance but also aims to introduce NASCAR to a broader global audience. 'American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans' will be available to stream in over 240 countries and territories.
