Westbrook Ed Tech Charged With Assaulting Student

Dan Spring, a 62-year-old former educational technician at Congin Elementary School in Westbrook, Maine, has been charged with assault for allegedly causing bodily injury or offensive physical contact to a 6-year-old student on April 1. Spring turned himself in after a warrant was issued following an investigation and prosecutorial review, and he posted bail after being taken to the Cumberland County Jail. He denies the allegations and claims he resigned on the day of the incident. Officials from the Westbrook police, school district, and District Attorney’s Office have declined to comment further or release the police report.
