Leonardo DiCaprio owns a 10 percent stake in a luxury eco-friendly hotel project in Israel's Herzliya Marina, which recently received final approval from the Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee after a lengthy approval process dating back to 2018. The $270 million development will span 12.6 acres, with a 14-story building housing 365 rooms, conference facilities, fine dining, a swimming pool, and yacht access, supported by 8,000 square meters of underground parking. The project emphasizes sustainability, aligning with U.S. Green Building Council's LEED standards, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental quality. The expansion from an initial 10,000 square meters to 51,000 square meters significantly delayed construction approvals. Despite DiCaprio's role as a United Nations Messenger for Peace, he has not publicly addressed the ongoing Gaza crisis amid which the project continues. The hotel aims to boost local tourism and public space development along the coastline, reflecting both commercial and community interests.
