Oman’s Sultan Visits Moscow Amid Iran Nuclear Talks

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman arrived in Moscow for a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, commemorating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Oman and Russia. The visit focuses on enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy, and renewable energy sectors, as well as deepening strategic partnerships. The leaders are also set to discuss regional and international issues, with particular attention to the Iran-U.S. nuclear talks, which recently began in Rome under Muscat's mediation. Russia has reaffirmed its readiness to assist in these negotiations, reflecting its continued role as a mediator in regional diplomacy. The high-level Omani delegation underscores the significance Oman places on its relationship with Russia. The visit aligns with Oman's foreign policy goal of engaging major global powers to promote stability and mutual interests.
