Yorkshire Signs Pakistan Batter Imam-ul-Haq for Season Completion

Yorkshire County Cricket Club has signed Pakistan's opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq as their overseas player for the remainder of the 2025 season, replacing India's Ruturaj Gaikwad who withdrew for personal reasons just before the season's crucial final phase. Imam, a left-hander with experience in English conditions from a previous stint at Somerset in 2022, will immediately join Yorkshire's squad for their Division One County Championship match against Surrey and participate in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. With a strong international record of 4,741 runs including 12 centuries across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, Imam's inclusion is expected to bolster Yorkshire's batting lineup during a pivotal period. Gavin Hamilton, Yorkshire's General Manager of Cricket, expressed delight at Imam's swift arrival and highlighted his proven international quality and familiarity with domestic cricket in England. Imam recently helped Pakistan Television win the President's Cup, Pakistan's domestic first-class tournament, and his experience against pace and spin is seen as a key asset for Yorkshire.
