London City Completes World-Record £1.43m Signing of France's Geyoro from PSG
London City Lionesses have set a new women's football transfer record by signing France international Grace Geyoro from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee reported to be around £1.4m to £1.43m, surpassing previous records set this summer. The 28-year-old midfielder, who has made over 270 appearances for PSG and scored 54 goals, is the club's 16th signing this summer as they prepare for their debut Women's Super League season. Geyoro has earned 103 caps for France, scoring 22 goals and bringing extensive international experience including participation in two World Cups, two European Championships, and the 2024 Olympics. PSG expressed gratitude for Geyoro's contributions, describing her as an iconic figure, while London City's ambitious recruitment, led by owner Michele Kang, also includes other high-profile players such as Jana Fernandez, Danielle van de Donk, Katie Zelem, and Nikita Parris. Geyoro is expected to link up with manager Jocelyn Prêcheur, whom she has previously worked with at PSG, though her debut for London City may come after their first WSL match. This transfer marks the third record-breaking deal in the women's game this transfer window, highlighting growing investment in women's football.
