Haas Factory Team Switches to Chevrolet, Joins Hendrick Alliance for 2026 NASCAR Season
The Haas Factory Team announced a significant transition for the 2026 NASCAR season, switching its manufacturer allegiance from Ford to Chevrolet for both its NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series entries. This change includes forming a technical alliance with Hendrick Motorsports, granting access to Hendrick-built engines across all series. Team owner Gene Haas emphasized the personal nature of this move, highlighting his longstanding relationship with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports, which he credits for establishing both his presence in NASCAR and Haas Automation. The switch marks a clear departure from the legacy of Tony Stewart, co-owner of the former Stewart-Haas Racing team, as Haas Factory Team seeks a fresh identity and improved competitiveness. Team president Joe Custer expressed gratitude to Ford for their past support while underscoring the new partnership with Chevrolet as the best path forward for the team's future success. Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick described the partnership as a 'homecoming' and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Haas Factory Team in winning more races for Chevrolet.
