Boskalis-Allseas Consortium Secures $1.4B Taiwan Offshore Gas Pipeline Contract
A consortium equally owned by Dutch maritime services provider Boskalis and Swiss offshore pipeline contractor Allseas has secured a €1.2 billion (approximately $1.38-$1.4 billion) contract from CPC Corporation Taiwan to build the YT2 offshore gas pipeline connecting Yongan LNG terminal to the Tongxiao transfer station. The 232-kilometer, 36-inch pipeline will run parallel to the existing YT1 pipeline and aims to improve Taiwan's northern gas supply capacity and support the country's energy transition goals. Boskalis will be responsible for landfalls, microtunneling, trenching, backfilling, and rock installation using multiple dredging and rock installation vessels, while Allseas will manage pipeline installation and pre-commissioning, deploying two advanced pipelay vessels. The project includes 34 pipeline crossings over existing and future infrastructure, two landfalls, and extensive trenching and backfilling activities. Scheduled to begin in 2026 and complete by 2028, the project reflects the consortium's commitment to developing critical energy infrastructure and enhancing the reliability and security of natural gas supply in Taiwan. Collaboration with CPC Corporation Taiwan is central to delivering this landmark energy infrastructure project.
