Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers Dead at 48

Sam Rivers, 48, the bassist and co‑founder of Limp Bizkit, was found dead in the bathroom of his Florida home in mid‑October after his wife, Keely, discovered him and placed a 911 call whose audio and the incident report were later obtained by media outlets. First responders and deputies performed CPR but pronounced Rivers dead at the scene; the incident report notes a cut above his eye that may indicate a fall from the toilet and that his face and neck were dark blue, a finding sometimes associated with pulmonary embolism. No official cause of death has been released while a medical examiner examines the body and toxicology results are pending. Keely told investigators Rivers had undergone a 2018 liver transplant and was taking multiple prescribed medications, and Rivers had previously left Limp Bizkit in 2015 amid liver disease related to alcohol before later rejoining the band.
