Ramsey County Authorities Search Vadnais Heights Sexual Assault Suspect

Ramsey County authorities are actively seeking public assistance to identify a suspect involved in a sexual assault that occurred just before 8 p.m. on a Tuesday evening in Vadnais Heights, near Centerville Road and Pondview Drive. A woman walking on a sidewalk was attacked from behind by a white man described as being in his mid-20s, about six feet tall, with a muscular build and short brown curly hair. The suspect forced the woman off the path, assaulted her, and fled north; the victim was able to escape, seek help at a nearby home, and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Police have been conducting searches with deputies and K9 units, gathering evidence, and interviewing residents and business employees in the area. The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket and pants and glasses, which were knocked off during the struggle. Authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage from the area around the time of the assault to contact the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office immediately.
