Finn Allen Sets Global T20 Sixes Record in MLC

Finn Allen of the San Francisco Unicorns delivered a record-breaking performance in the 2025 Major League Cricket opener, smashing 151 runs off just 51 balls, including a global record 19 sixes to surpass Chris Gayle’s previous T20 mark. He reached his century in 34 balls, the fastest in MLC history and the second-fastest in any T20 franchise league, and recorded the fastest 150 in T20s by reaching the mark in 49 balls. Allen powered the Unicorns to 269/5, the highest total in both MLC and T20 matches on U.S. soil, and contributed to one of the highest single-innings six tallies by a team. The defending champions, Washington Freedom, were bowled out for 146 in 13.1 overs, with Haris Rauf and Hassan Khan starring with the ball, resulting in a record 123-run victory for the Unicorns. Allen scored 134 of his runs in boundaries, and his innings has been widely celebrated as one of the most dominant in T20 history. His performance set new global and league benchmarks, rewriting several records in the process.
