Two IPS Officers Resign in Maharashtra
Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande, a prominent IPS officer known for his integrity, has resigned after 18 years of service, citing personal reasons. Lande, originally from Maharashtra, served in various capacities including as Inspector General in Bihar and as Additional Commissioner of Police in Maharashtra's Anti-Terrorism Squad. He played a key role in the high-profile investigation into the explosives-laden vehicle discovered near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence in 2021. Meanwhile, Nimit Goyal, a 2014-batch IPS officer, has also resigned from his role as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Nagpur to pursue opportunities in the private sector. His resignation, submitted on July 8, is pending approval from the state home department. Goyal's move marks a significant trend, as more officers transition from public service to private careers.
