GoTo Foods, DoorDash Launch Drone Delivery in Texas Cities

GoTo Foods, the company behind brands such as Schlotzky's, Auntie Anne’s, Jamba, McAlister’s Deli, and Cinnabon, has partnered with DoorDash and drone operator Wing to launch drone food delivery services in three Texas markets: Frisco, Fort Worth, and Plano. This initiative allows customers within four miles of select restaurants to receive orders via drones within approximately 20 minutes, enhancing convenience and expanding access beyond traditional mall locations. GoTo Foods, one of the first national foodservice companies to offer multi-brand drone delivery, views this technology as part of its digital-first strategy to meet evolving consumer demands, especially from Gen Z, by modernizing through personalized and tech-forward experiences. DoorDash has also been expanding drone delivery services in other markets, including Dallas-Fort Worth and Charlotte, reflecting a broader trend toward automation in food delivery to improve speed and accuracy. The drones operate in designated zones and may pause service due to weather or other operational factors.
