Marietta Shooting Suspect Arrested

A domestic dispute at an apartment on Ridge Run in Marietta on Monday evening left 58-year-old Michael Jackson shot multiple times; he was later pronounced dead at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Pharron Banks, who fled in a black Nissan Rogue that was later found abandoned on John Hope Drive in Atlanta after officers used license plate readers; the vehicle was processed for clues. Warrants were issued charging Banks with homicide/murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and third-degree cruelty to children, and authorities warned he should be considered armed and dangerous and urged the public not to approach. Marietta Police later reported Banks was taken into custody Wednesday around 5 p.m. at a Gwinnett County home by the Gwinnett County Police Department SWAT team; investigators continue to probe what prompted the dispute.
