Memorial Honors Lorain Officer Wagner With Full Military Rites
The memorial service for Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner, who was killed in an ambush, is set for Wednesday, July 30 at Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland, with doors opening at 10 a.m. and the service starting at 11 a.m. Full military honors will be rendered for Wagner, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and father of three. The funeral procession will begin at 7:30 a.m. from Liston Funeral Home, and several roads will be temporarily closed for the event. Law enforcement agencies from across Ohio will patrol Lorain during the memorial, allowing local officers to attend while maintaining community safety. Wagner’s family requests that memorial donations be made to the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio, and a public fundraiser for the Lorain Police Memorial Fund is scheduled for September 20. The Lorain Police Department has expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support and asked for privacy for Wagner’s family.
