Duxbury Man Charged with Assault to Murder for Strangling Woman in Apartment Hallway

Brandon Wangnoon, a 31-year-old man from Duxbury, was arrested and charged with assault to murder, strangulation, and breaking and entering after an incident at an apartment complex where he strangled a woman and threatened to kill her. The event occurred around 9:30 p.m. on July 31, when Wangnoon was initially removed from his girlfriend's apartment but then entered another apartment without permission. When occupants demanded he leave, he refused and became argumentative, physically assaulting the female victim by grabbing her neck and strangling her in the hallway. Witnesses intervened, separating Wangnoon from the victim and allowing her to escape to safety. Police located Wangnoon nearby, detained him, and after interviewing the victim and witnesses, formally charged him with multiple serious offenses.
