Santa Rescued in Norwalk, Stamford Event Succeeds
A man dressed as Santa Claus became stranded while rappelling down a 13-story building during Norwalk's Holiday Extravaganza. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when part of his costume got entangled in the rigging, leaving him suspended 60 feet above the ground. Firefighters from Norwalk responded promptly, making contact from a sixth-floor window, attaching a safety line, and safely bringing him inside after removing a window. The rescue operation involved about 13 firefighters, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Meanwhile, in Stamford, the 'Heights and Lights' event featured a successful display of Santa and friends rappelling down a 22-story building. These events aim to invigorate local businesses by creating a festive, engaging environment downtown.
