Hesai Launches Infinity Eye Lidar Solutions for L2 to L4 Autonomous Driving

Hesai Group has launched its Infinity Eye lidar solution, targeting Levels 2 to 4 autonomous driving with three new products: ETX, AT1440, and FTX. The AT1440 lidar stands out with the highest channel count in the market, promising enhanced perception capabilities, while the fully solid-state FTX lidar improves blind spot detection with a wide field of view and high resolution. The Infinity Eye configurations are tailored to varying autonomy levels, with the ATX lidar already adopted by major OEMs and over 50,000 units delivered, and production capacity projected to reach up to 2 million units annually. Mass production of the AT1440 is set for the latter half of 2025, and the long-range ETX lidar is expected by the end of 2026, potentially affecting short-term revenue. The new systems leverage a fourth-generation technology platform for improved performance and lower power consumption. Hesai's announcements come amid rising competition in the lidar market and accelerated development in the autonomous vehicle industry.
