Quincy Teen Charged in North Quincy Car Vandalism

Sterling Mwaura Karanja, an 18-year-old, was arrested and charged with 63 counts of property damage after allegedly vandalizing over 60 vehicles in Quincy, Massachusetts. The incidents took place primarily in the North Quincy area, specifically on streets including Commander Shea Boulevard, Quincy Shore Drive, Hancock Street, Newbury Avenue, and Oakridge Road. Damages reported by victims included scratches and keying, with some vehicles targeted more than once. Police used surveillance footage and fingerprints to identify and apprehend Karanja without incident. During his arraignment, Karanja pleaded not guilty, was held on $10,000 bail, and ordered to undergo a competency evaluation.
