Hartsdale Couple, Nanny Indicted For Kidnapping, Assault Of Queens Teen

Wayne and Jasmine Barnes, a married couple from Hartsdale, along with their nanny Lizbeth Cerrato-Sanchez, were indicted and arrested for the kidnapping and brutal assault of a 19-year-old Queens woman who worked at Wayne Barnes' Bronx tattoo parlor and was romantically involved with him. The incident occurred on May 16, 2025, when the victim was given a ride home by Wayne Barnes, who after an argument, assaulted her with a metal baton and forced her out of the car along the Grand Central Parkway. After picking up his wife, the couple continued the assault on the victim during the drive to their home, where Jasmine Barnes pushed her down a flight of stairs and struck her with the baton while the nanny also punched the victim. The victim was eventually allowed to leave and sought medical treatment before reporting the incident to police, leading to the arrests. The Barnes couple face multiple charges including kidnapping, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, while Cerrato-Sanchez is charged with assault and weapon possession. Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace condemned the actions as 'astonishing' and highlighted the importance of inter-jurisdictional cooperation in delivering justice.
