Guidewire Invests $60M to Expand Japanese Insurance Operations
Guidewire Software has announced a $60 million investment over the next five years to expand its operations and platform capabilities in Japan, aiming to support the digital transformation of Japanese insurers. The initiative targets enhancements to core products, such as PolicyCenter and BillingCenter, adding features like policy change reversals and proration, as well as localized Japanese language support and training. More than 60% of Japan’s insurance gross written premium is already processed through Guidewire’s ClaimCenter, highlighting the company’s significant presence in the market. Planned product developments include pre-built integrations for personal auto insurance by 2026 and expanded features for homeowner, earthquake, and commercial group policies by 2027. Guidewire’s investment is intended to help Japanese insurers achieve profitable growth, regulatory compliance, and increased agility through cloud-based solutions. The company also plans to strengthen its local team and ecosystem in response to rising demand for modern insurance technologies.
