Nebraska TE Mac Markway Suffers Second ACL Tear, Out for 2025 Season

Nebraska football tight end Mac Markway will miss the entire 2025 season after the repair of his ACL injury failed shortly after the first day of preseason practice. Markway, an LSU transfer and highly ranked high school recruit, had already missed all of 2024 due to the original ACL tear. Head coach Matt Rhule and offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen expressed deep disappointment and praised Markway's character and potential, while also highlighting the depth of the tight end room to fill the void. Markway showed promising physical attributes and was expected to compete for a starting role this fall before the setback.
