Bostonians Awarded 'Fastest Bostonian' Titles at 2025 Marathon

Four Boston residents were honored with Fastest Bostonian awards for their top finish times among city residents in the 2025 Boston Marathon, marking the third year of the awards and the first to recognize a wheelchair division participant. Erik Linden, a Beacon Hill data scientist, was the fastest Boston man with a time of 2:21:25, while Jacqueline Gaughan, also of Beacon Hill and working in finance, was the fastest Boston woman at 2:32:07. Danielle Bishop of Allston, a New Balance employee, claimed the fastest non-binary finish with 3:42:14, marking their eighth marathon. Jason Fowler of South Boston, a 21-time marathon participant, became the inaugural Fastest Bostonian in the wheelchair division with a finish of 2:00:43. The awards coincide with the 50th anniversary of the marathon's wheelchair division, though no Boston-based women competed in that category this year. Recipients will be celebrated at a city reception and receive commemorative engraved glass bowls.
