Attack on Titan Wins Crunchyroll Global Impact Award

The 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, held in Tokyo and attended by celebrity presenters, introduced the Global Impact Award, with 'Attack on Titan' as its inaugural recipient for its major influence on global pop culture and the anime industry. The event saw 51 million votes cast, reflecting fans' deep emotional connection to anime. 'Attack on Titan,' based on Hajime Isayama's manga, concluded its anime run in 2023 and has sold over 140 million manga copies worldwide. MAPPA studio accepted the Global Impact Award on behalf of the creators. The ceremony also honored outstanding voice actors, with Aoi Yuki (Japanese) and Aleks Le (English) among the winners. Crunchyroll's leadership highlighted anime's growing cultural significance, especially among Gen Z audiences.
