HoopsFest Plans First Joint NBL, WNBL Round in Perth 2026

HoopsFest is set to return to Perth from January 15 to 18, 2026, marking its second consecutive year in Western Australia and featuring the first-ever joint round of regular-season games for both the NBL and WNBL. The event, shifted to the January school holiday period to accommodate venue availability and maximize fan engagement, will showcase elite men's and women's basketball teams competing across four days. NBL CEO David Stevenson praised the move and acknowledged the support from the Western Australian Government, Tourism WA, and VenuesWest, emphasizing the historic significance of combining NBL and WNBL matches. WNBL CEO Jennie Sager highlighted the thriving state of women's basketball and the opportunity for fans to see top international and Australian talent on one court. Beyond the games, HoopsFest will feature various fan activities, including Sneakerland, food, music, entertainment, and community engagement, with a new HoopsFest Cup tournament for open-age men's and women's players. This event celebrates basketball culture and aims to attract both longtime fans and newcomers to the sport.
