James Milner, with 638 Premier League appearances, has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Brighton & Hove Albion for a third season. Now 39, Milner is 15 appearances away from surpassing Gareth Barry's all-time record of 653 Premier League games. His previous season was limited to four matches due to injury, but Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler highlighted Milner's invaluable experience, especially for younger team members. Milner began his Premier League career with Leeds United in 2002 and has played for Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Liverpool, achieving multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League victory. Brighton finished eighth last season, just missing European qualification. If Milner continues playing beyond this contract, he could also contend for Teddy Sheringham’s record as the oldest Premier League outfield player.
